Anglia in Bloom Tree Planting - Spring Launch March 15th 2010 Moor, Huntingdon
Moor (Huntingdon) the Urban Community entry in the 2010 Britain in Bloom Competition, hosted and supported Anglia in Blooms spring campaign launch and also launched its own Britain in Bloom entry.
Anglia in Bloom and Moor marked the occasion with the planting of a tree at Coneygear Park, the field maple was sponsored by Barcham Trees
Anglia in Bloom Executive members, judges, Moor In Bloom members, and several schools were in attendance for the launch, and there was also the opportunity to see hedge laying being undertaken by the Grounds Maintenance staff and volunteers sowing wild flowers.
During the Summer Anglia in Bloom judges will be out and about visiting villages, towns and cities in the region assessing their entry in the 2010 campaign. Entrants will be judged on their efforts to promote sustainability, their involvement with the community, care for the environment and horticultural excellence. The winners in the various categories will be announced at the grand awards ceremony to be held in September this year.

The tree planting at Coneygear Park launched the Anglia in Bloom and Moor in Bloom campaigns with several other ceremonial plantings marking the beginning of Spring in each of the 6 counties and launches across the Anglia in Bloom region along with 5 other National Britain in Bloom entrants; (Urban Community) Moor (Town) Halstead
The extra large specimen trees was generously donated by Keith Sacre, Barcham Trees , Ely.
